Hi there. Mine name is Amanda. I am a twenty something from Northern California. At 18 I moved over 2,500 miles across the country to attend University of South Carolina. There I founded an international business fraternity and won President of the Year for my sorority. After graduating with a degree in International Business I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. I worked as a Risk and Compliance consultant in the financial services for over two years. At one point I had my Series 7 (what you need to work in the stock market) and was a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Yes, I was a suit wearing corporate vagabond.
In June of 2016 I began to write for CLTure, a music, food, and art blog based out of Charlotte. Then, in the Spring of 2017 I started writing for Festival Squad and quickly became their International Editor. As my passion for music festivals and journalism grew, I begin to feel the urge for a major change. I quit my job in consulting in July of 2017. I then packed my bags and headed to Southeast Asia for the 3 months to “find myself.” Spoiler: All I found was a whole bunch rum and really cool friends from the UK.
Life is not about finding yourself, it’s about creating yourself.
After Southeast Asia, I headed to Central America. Throughout my travels a few things were constant: music, people, and memorable experiences. Now back in the United States I am working full time on promoting those three things through my latest venture Festivate. Adding business owner to my list of accomplishments has been extremely rewarding but not without it’s challenges. I will spending the rest of the year working on the business and traveling the country (and hopefully the globe) from festival to festival.
