City sidewalks, busy sidewalks

What a crazy city New York is. Every morning, the street in front of our hotel would be covered with potted flowers, trees, and plants of all shapes and sizes. Then after the sun set, the entire sidewalk would be empty. Every single morning the shop owners would haul all of the plants out creating a forest of flowers and vines all across the sidewalk and every night they would haul every single plant back in- leaving nothing but a bare alley. And it wasn’t just one shop, there had to be at least ten on this street alone. All participating in this ritual every day. What an awful shame that at night all that’s left for the moon to reflect over is the occasional fallen leaf or forgotten pedal but what a wonderful effort by the shopowners to create such beauty for me to enjoy in the sunshine 🌷🌿☀️
