Treat yo self: NYC

If my endless snap chats of food aren’t enough here is a recap of how I treated myself this past weekend.

The weekend started out actually with some home made chorizo breakfast tacos (shout out to my little brother).

Extra Fancy Brooklyn

Don’t let the name fool you, this is not a white table cloth black tie kind of place. It is a young, albeit hipster place, but one thing I love about hipsters is their appreciation for fresh, flavorful dishes and this place was no disappointment. Raw bar: Fresh AF, the clams were amazing and the ceviche was killer. Lobster bisque fries and deviled eggs. I don’t even like deviled eggs and would have asked for another round had I not had a steak coming my way.

The finale wagu steak heaven

Black seed bagels

It’s not a trip to NYC if you don’t get a classic bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Three words for you: wood burning stove. Made for a lovely aroma waking into the place and a delicious bagel. This place was great but even by NYC standards it’s a bit pricey. Definitely a #treatyoself type of place.

Bare burger

Saturday night was filled with a hearty burger and fries at a reasonable price ($12 for a burger). The sweet fries, onion rings, fried brussel sprouts, and SoCal turkey avocado burger were excellent but the sauces really stole the show.  img_0208

I couldn’t tell what each one was but there were flavors of BBQ, curry, garlic, tartar, and all around deliciousness.

Woke up early on Sunday and ended up double breakfasting #notsorry

First stop was project coffee for a latte and muffin. What I got was spot on but I would love to go back there and try their coffee flights.

Local 92

I honestly could not even tell you the name of what I got but it was savory and delicious that the name doesn’t even matter.

The avocado with the spongeyness of the bread and the wet yoke created an explosion of flavor on my taste buds. Then the hearty potatoes filled me up while the salad added some freshness to the plate. Paired with a prosecco mimosa and my Sunday was off to an excellent start!
